We have something for everyone with three buildings of exciting architecture, history and fun!We are the newest Frank Lloyd Wright museum with Wright's original San Francisco office on our campus. We also have his 12-foot Butterfly Wing Bridge model on display. On the second floor, discover the people who created Erie County. Dating back to Native Americans, we've traced the lives of immigrants who built careers and established families, schools and churches. In the Watson-Curtze Mansion, built in 1891, you'll revel in the opulent architecture of this 12,000-square-foot Victorian home historic 24-room home with 12 fireplaces and a ballroom. Explore the Griswold cast iron display in the kitchen. Visit the tribute to the Curtze family in a legacy exhibit with original artifacts from the house; learn about Erie's Jewish Heritage; and check out our hunting and fishing history. Peek inside Winfred Watson's childhood bedroom, a Victorian dress display, Servants Quarters and more. On the third floor, you'll find the ballroom and multiple exhibits. In the neighboring 1850s Wood-Morrison House, learn about the Erie Extension Canal that flowed right next to the house. Be prepared for George Washington's time in our region and emotional stories of Erie County men and women who fought for our country. You'll also see the pot used to boil Mad Anthony Wayne's bones … and much more. We also have Oliver Hazard Perry's sword and original artifacts from the War of 1812.
